生活中我们也早已习惯了用各种“笑”来缓解各种气氛、表达思想，比如初次见面的礼貌性微笑，心满意足的浅笑或大笑，尴尬时的傻笑等各种“笑”，它们时常被赋予了不同的意义。

1.微笑 - smile

Her smile makes her even more beautiful. 她的微笑使她更美丽了。

2.大笑 - laugh

Laugh, and the world laughs with you; weep, and you weep alone.你笑，世界也会跟着你一起笑。你哭，却只能独自一人。

3.露齿而笑 - grin

People who confess to feeling happy also grin more than others.

承认感觉幸福的人们也会比别人更喜欢咧着嘴笑。

4.轻声地笑 - chuckle

She was roused by a chuckle which Mr. Dorset seemed to eject from the depths of his lean throat.多森先生从他那瘦弱的喉咙深处迸出一阵笑声，把她吓了一跳。

5.咯咯笑- giggle

There was silence for a moment, then a giggle. 沉默了片刻之后，有人在吃吃地笑。

6.坏笑，暗笑，窃笑 - snicker

7.假笑，痴笑，傻笑 - simper

8.哄笑；大笑 -Roar

12.嘲笑-Taunt

His taunt has beyond my endurance. 他的嘲笑我不能忍受。

13.纵声大笑 - Horselaugh（如马嘶一般）

He burst out into a horselaugh.他忽然高声狂笑。

14.哄笑，暗笑 - guffaw

What he said aroused a blast of guffaw.他的话引起大家一阵哄笑。

15.冷笑，嘲笑 - sneer

There is too great a readiness to sneer at anything the Opposition does.对反对党的任何举动都想加以嘲笑的心理过于急切了。

16.嘻嘻的笑，暗笑 - twitter

She laughs, blushes and twitters: 'Oh, doesn't Giles have just the most charming sense of humour? 她羞赧地笑了，尖声细气地说道：“哦，难道贾尔斯的幽默感不正是特招人喜欢的那种吗？”

17.傻笑，假笑，得意地笑 - smirk

A dozen people were watching her, smirking at her discomfort.有十来个人在看着她，对她不安的样子幸灾乐祸地笑着。
